From September 2nd to 4th, 2024, Dr. Oliver Krauss, Andreas Pointner, and Sebastian Pritz from the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria, Campus Hagenberg, visited Goce Delchev University in Shtip, North Macedonia. The visit was part of an international collaboration focused on advancing research in healthcare IT. Over the course of several intensive workshops, the team worked on topics such as security analysis with covert channels in FHIR standards, process mining and conformance checking, medical data analysis using large language models, simulation and machine learning modeling for infectious diseases, and toxicology research based on clinical datasets. These sessions not only deepened the academic exchange between the institutions but also initiated multiple joint publications, some of which are already in preparation for submission to international journals and conferences. The visit marks a significant step in strengthening the partnership and fostering future research initiatives.
