Our colleague Sophie Bauernfeind attended this year\u2019s Language Resources and Evaluation Conference (LREC), where she presented recent work at the CL4Health Workshop on Patient-Oriented Language Processing.<\/p>\n
CL4Health brings together research on computational linguistics, healthcare, and patient-centered research. The workshop focuses on language technologies that improve access to trustworthy health information, support patient understanding, and enable explainable healthcare communication, including clinical data summarization, health question answering, text simplification, and patient-focused AI systems.<\/p>\n
Sophie presented the paper \u201cPatient-Specific Care Pathway Visualization for Medical Nursing Staff.\u201d The work explores how patient-specific clinical information can be transformed into intuitive visual representations that support nursing staff in understanding individual care pathways. The paper investigates the use of generative AI for graph-based patient pathway visualization, assessing whether standard models can achieve explainable results without additional preprocessing or larger architectures.<\/p>\n
